There’s that saying that we don’t truly appreciate what we have until we lose it. I think that is true to a point. But I also think it’s more that we don’t understand how much we’ll miss someone until their gone.

It was 10 years ago today: 9.11.01
This is what I remember: walking through my front door. The door was open, the glass door unlocked. My mom and little brother were in the living room looking at the TV. My mom was on the couch, Terrance cross legged on the floor. On the screen were two towers with smoke billowing from them. I was in second grade.
That is it. That is all I remember. I don’t think my school released students...

Telling Dr. Pepper from Coke
*Three large drinks from McDonald’s sit in a gray cup holder. 1 is a Coke, the other 2 are Dr. Peppers*
Mom: There are the drinks but I don’t know which is which.
Me: Just smell them, that’s how you’ll know.
Mom: What does Dr. Pepper smell like?
Me: Not like Coke.
